My name is Paul Sonderegger. I’m a strategist, storyteller, technologist — in that order. Really I’m an English major with a tech habit.
The world is making a digital copy of itself, and that’s a big deal. Information is part of every activity in personal, public and commercial life. It helps us decide and do things better (but not always good things). When you dramatically cut the cost of capturing, keeping and using information, you can do things and make choices in ways that used to be impossible.
I work at Oracle as a Senior Data Strategist where I lead the company’s work on data capital. Data is now a kind of capital, an economic factor of production in digital goods and services. I help executives in large organizations understand what this means for competitive strategy and the future of enterprise computing.
Before Oracle I was Chief Strategist at a great startup called Endeca. And before that I was an analyst at Forrester.
Nothing I say here says anything about Oracle’s opinions on this stuff.
Paul! Something reminded me of you from 1989 and it made me wonder where life took you! I’m not on Facebook but if my memory serves me right, this is the Paul from Marlboro High class of 1990.
All the best,
Roopali Phadke
Roopali, Great to hear from you! You got the right Paul Sonderegger on the first try. I’m not on Facebook either. I hope all’s well with you . Best, Paul
